I really like restoring old stuff, cars, bikes, RV's etc. and would love to see some folks rebuilds/restores or crazy builds....If you want to share.
I'll go - some before and afters.

Missing a lot of pictures of the restoration but basically it was just a frame, engine and rims, a lot of damage on tank, dash, side covers and seat, rusted fenders, missing chain covers, dry rot tires, broken switches, cracked head light, rusted chain sprockets etc. not much good on it at all with just only 369 miles on it !
I was thinking of parting it out but with a little work, some money/nos parts, new pucks, flipped 2nd gear clutch, took down the head a bit, added14mm bing and bored stock intake, put a treats chamber on stock header and I added cateye turn signals,
So I ended up with a very clean wonderful heavy duty bike that even being mostly stock goes over 40mph with great take off,
Basically it’s like a small motorcycle that goes anywhere and out shadows most every moped of the time (1978)
I got two tomos sprint together in a deal. one was a 1994 A35 it came with a blown piston and tore up crank. this was the first motor i split the cases on and gave a full rebuild. it ended up running well to 35mph. I sold the bike to an acquaintance for his son over a year ago and the bike is still running.

Great patina!
Brandon, did you do some spot painting on that rusty tank? If not, how'd you get that rust off?
Nice work everyone! The bodies have been pretty nice on mine, it just been getting off all the effing rust off the chrome. Trying every trick in the book, I'll get it.
Carry on with the great restorations everyone!

Thanks, but no other comments on rust guys. There's plenty in wiki and I don't want the thread hijacked. Appreciate the sentiment.
Back to the nice restorations.

Thanks! Actually, I soaked paper towels in Evaporust, and laid them on all the rusty paint spots, and covered over with cling wrap to seal in the moisture. I'm telling ya, Evaporust is amazing. Doesn't hurt paint or metal, ONLY rust.

Nice. Maybe I'll try it on the chrome. Good to know the stuff doesn't trash paint. I'll remember that for next restore.
Great thread. Keep them coming:-)
