1977 Vespa Ciao Piaggio Won’t start

I bought it off facebook, It ran perfect. Always started right up. But after only a month of having the stupid thing quit. I was driving and it lost all power all at once so much that I lost balance a little, then it slowly died. I got it too start but was scared to take it far because of that big pop and loss of power. It felt like I threw the brakes on because I was almost full throttle in this bored out 1977 Vespa going at least 35 and lost all everything. Please help me

Sounds like you seized it. Does it have a kit on it?

Re: 1977 Vespa Ciao Piaggio Won’t start

If it's not kitted, did you just put on that circuit pipe? I'm fairly new here, but if you did it probably is ran hot ,and it sounds like it seized as Stephen suggests. Mine seized last year I pulled the head. Sprayed lots of penetrating oil for a couple days and it loosened up. Luckily no damage. Try it. Hopefully you get more advice from seasoned members. Good luck kid!

Soft seize . Hard seize would eject you! Don't ask me how I know.
