Anyone run this setup? Will the carb clear cases/frame? Would the angle be to steep?

Ive done it on my magnum x, you gotta hack a little bit of the case where the wires come out. I dont think it will clear the frame on a tube frame puch, mayyyybe on a maxi.
Ya I was thinking I would have to cut that front left vertical fin on the left case a bit. Hoping it won't hit the frame
Forgot to mention it is in fact going on a maxi. Revamping a friends bike and hoping to use stuff I already have in a pile somewhere.
woah if this actually works it would blow my mind.
always super easy to weld up a 7/8" handlebar manifold for sha's
gotta love that a35 cylinder/ sha combo on a e50... makes me want to build another.
Even on a step through the petcock gets in the way
I did this years ago before it was cool. At the time I used a stock tomos “L” intake from the late 90’s -00’s a35 engines and chopped the bend of the intake off. Then I ground it down to fit it snuggly into a dellorto 16/16 SHA (with shim of course). It puts the carb at an angle but my bike never starved for fuel. I then paired that up with a SHA cap filter and had no pedal clearance issues. It was easy to work on and tune at that point.
Called it
Is the angle too much for an sha?

Not sure really, it doesn't seem terrible. Maybe just extend the forks to level things out lol

Do it

Nah its a fine angle. As long as it is angled the same way as the float pivots it equalizes it self.
I dont think the motor will mount up with that step up. Pics of it mounted please!
Gotta grab the frame, I’ll test fit later tonight or tomorrow and get pics up
Are you able to remove the carb?
I would say hell no just like a Tomas you're going to have to drop the front engine mount to get the carb off
I would recommend the delordo float Bowl with the bleeder on the bottom at least if you have a clogged jet you can dump the crap in the reservoir
Can't simply remove the screws for the intake adapter in order to remove the carb ?
Ill be dipped, didnt think it would clear the frame without whacking up the frame. The carb does look like it will be annoying to tune tho, but once dialed in that straight intake will make a difference.

It's not, SHA float swings perpendicular to venturi direction, AKA left to right, not front to back. It may run fine because SHA's often don't really care, but you may run into float height issues given that the SHA's dont really have an effective way to set float height
Although it looks like it wouldn't from the pic, the carb comes right off the intake once you turn it to the right so that the float bowl clears the hump in the top of the case, so no need to shave the seam in the frame or drop the engine in order for quick removal of the carb!
Didn't even have to remove the vstack to get the carb out
Nice
no shit. this is some great moped science right here.
Why don't they fit on Tomos frames as well the darn intake always hits the petcock
