Any Baltimore riders out there?

I'm living in Heritage Crossing until August and was wondering if there was any semblance of a moped scene here; weekly rides or anything like that. I looked for Facebook groups but didn't find anything. I'm itching to get to know the city better and what better way than through mopeds (edited)

Re: Any Baltimore riders out there?

Well the neighbor came over and talked to me as I was looking my ped up, told me he had a scooter that was chain locked stolen the first day he moved here and a couple attempts on his motorcycle. I have it covered and locked down but I'll probably just drive back to Columbus this weekend and put it in the safety of a garage since it seems like there isn't much going on in the moped scene here anyway

Yeah I brought my .22 and the house I'm in has a dog. I wasn't expecting it to be a good neighborhood but it's pretty rough. Unfortunately the guy I'm renting from won't let me bring it inside.

Cool man, I work in Linthicum so sounds like you're pretty close to there. I'll message you

Re: Any Baltimore riders out there?

am in northeast baltimore. you gotta keep that thing locked inside. and wtf are you doing in heritage crossing? right next to harlem park :(

anyway from what i saw there is a group on facebook but no one rides. there is more of a scooter scene apparently but there is some crossover. if any of you want to ride let me know we could meet up somewhere downtown i guess. not so sure about going down to pasadena i am afraid i will break down haha.

i have a buddy up in jarretsville who has a couple mopeds too, trying to get him to come out.

Re: Any Baltimore riders out there?

When I was on the west side there were even people using plasma cutters to cut chains. Mine stayed parked inside the kitchen.

Yeah I mean I'm just here for a month or two, it was one of the few options within my budget and I've lived in rough areas before so it's not too big of a deal for me. I'm living with some other guys my age who are going to law school so I felt most comfortable moving into this situation than anything else I could find.

Anywhoo, I got my ped safely locked in a friend's apartment's parking garage in Riverside. It'd be cool to get a ride together sometime next week if enough people are interested (edited)

Re: Any Baltimore riders out there?

riding around/to inner harbor and ft mchenry is fun. i'd be down to bring a scoot into the city to putt around some. need to get my hobbit back together this week and next before UPjet rally in NYC

Re: Any Baltimore riders out there?

I got my throttle cable and fuel line clips in the mail finally. Going to try and get my bike running by this weekend. Going to be pretty busy though. You guys want to plan a ride for some time?

I'm busy Saturday but Sunday will be good for me assuming I find a tube for my rear tire that just popped

Re: Any Baltimore riders out there?

Cool yeah Sunday should be okay if weather is nice. I don't think I have anything much planned. The church I go to is having a festival this week and on Sunday some of the parishioners bring their classic cars to show. Could be something to check out. From pictures before it looks like lot of old American cars from 60s and 70s.
