well according to that all she has to do is take the tests and if she passes them she can drive it says there if she's under 16 that she could obtain a license you may want to look into pedal assisted electric bikes and the federal requirements I do believe there was a federal law enacted that you didn't require a driver's license insurance registration and a plate you could bring a printout with you to your state representative and you can get all of this sorted out in one afternoon

Re: kid legal driving question

According to this http://www.twincitiesrider.com/mopeds009.htm and this http://www.moped2.org/laws/Minnesota.htm

You have to be 15 to get a moped license in MN

I do believe it was the electric bicycle Act I think it would supersede any state laws preventing somebody from operating an electric bicycle provided it was below a certain wattage

Also the definition of a motorized pedal cycle varies from state-to-state in Pennsylvania if it goes under 20 miles an hour it's considered a motorized pedal cycle that is exempt from licensing registration and insurance

Re: kid legal driving question

She needs to be taught to ride safely and always have a friend with her. People on bicycles or mopeds can be targeted pretty easily.

I wouldn't let my daughter ride until 14 anyway, and that closely supervised.

Re: kid legal driving question

In MN you can only legally ride at 15, there is a special moped only license you can get. Go to the testing station, they will provide you a copy of the moped rules and regs.
