Vintage Pacer Decals Reborn

Benjamin The Wandering Pacer /

So I bought a bunch of OEM Pacer decals a while back with the intent to repaint my tank. Thankfully I was talked out of it , But then I got another Pacer with a repainted tank with no decals. Others who had also bought the OEM decals told me they went through a few trying to get this to stick and even then they didn't work right. So being the graphic designer that I am, I recreated the artwork. I have slowly been recreating all the original decals found on the bikes.

Thanks, It's been a real labor of love. I am still missing a couple such as the checker decal and the smaller Pacer that goes on the deluxe chain guard . Currently I am using a checker automotive tape that's pretty close. It just doesn't have the reflective sheen. I haven't started to look at my Pacer Sport yet but I have most of them for the Super Sport and Deluxe.

Re: Vintage Pacer Decals Reborn

man thats awesome, saw you get mentioned on the second stroke blog cast thing, nice work... if there was one of you for each obscure brand of moped, the world would be a better place.

Thanks Graham. It was a pleasant surprise to find out about the mention. I had sent out those stickers/letters to few shops for the fun of it not knowing how they would be received. I still plan to send some more out. Even though Pacers weren't as big other brands they still were pretty well established in their own right. I mean there are some other bikes that use the same builds and people still call them Pacers. :D I even built a fun History of the Pacer page on my website. http://www.thewanderingpacer.com/history/

Long Live the Pacer!!

Re: Vintage Pacer Decals Reborn

Awesome! Would you be willing to sell one of those VIN stickers? Mine is pretty tore up and would be nice to just transfer all the info onto a new one with a letter punch.

Thanks, I appropriate it. :D

Re: Vintage Pacer Decals Reborn

Oh man. I gotta hop in on this. Any chance I could purchase a set as well? Mine are completely gone. A fresh coat of paint and some decals would work wonders.

Thanks!

Glad to hear you like them. :D

Re: Vintage Pacer Decals Reborn

Benjamin! Great job! I don't suppose you plan on expanding to other makes? I'd be interested in the foil VIN stickers for my Vespas. Those ones of yours are top notch!

I could certainly look into it. My brother runs all Vespas. I could take a look and see what it would take to make one.

There is a general lack of real transfer decals for nearly anything. I finally settled on these "stickers" which supposedly will survive clear coating. I wanted something super amazing such as a silhouette of the Sierra's on one side and saguaro Sonoran desert on other , something different and nonpolitical and not divisive such as Gouls and iron crosses. But nada. Can u make stuff like that ??? Your stuff is fabulous.

I am not sure I fully get what you are saying. Are you asking for vector shapes or photos on vinyl?

Re: Vintage Pacer Decals Reborn

I'm wondering if it's super hard to make something like a mounTain range or a beautiful tree etc. Sort of like some amazing scene hand painted on a Harley tank but budget.
