To do this sort of thing for a customer I would bill 6-8 hours including a full engine tear down, port matching, maybe some light porting and tuning. If I have a helper it wouldn't even be a full 8 hours. Most of our customers end up with a bill not much more than $500. If I wanted to make a show I would want to see them sweating, doing something cool, making something unique and different, you know a real challenge. Not just some Craigslist flipper bike. I'd rather be seeing them restore them to a beautifully done stock bike with all the trim instead of throwing a kit and sha on a bike. Again this is just my personal opinion. I dont see any reason this could be considered a competition without an actual challenge factor, other than the time constraint and a relatively sizeable budget. And yeah it could definatley have more fun in it. (edited)
