Just bought me an old starflite for putting into work. Fuel Ratio is 1:50.
Any oils i should stay away from? and how rigorously should I avoid ethanol?
P. S. Titling was a breeze(2 hr wait aside) pics will be posted once the sun comes out.

Just use whatever gas your local gas station has and mix it with any 2 stroke oil you want.
Go 40:1 and save yer bearings, upper and lower especially. Enjoy!
Any high quality 2 stroke oil is fine, I like ethanol free gas if you can get it, but it is not necessary.
40;1 is safer...synthetic won't smoke much after it warms up.
carry a spare plug.
I used to use 8oz./gal. of Yamalube-R in my modified class race bike (RD350). That's a sixteen to one ratio.

Well, even to me,that's pretty heavy on the oil. You have to upjet when you run heavy oil ratios.
I have run 3oz/Gallon (around 40/1) for the last 40 years. I have never experienced an engine failure due to insufficient lubrication, and only fouled the plug maybe a handful of times in a quarter million miles. I use Regular from the pump, ethanol or not. I use synthetic 2 stroke from Walmart when they have it, regular 2 stroke when they dont. Don't overthink this. The stuff you see on here about all the fancy oils and lean mixtures are just the folks trying to get motorcycle speeds out of a moped and are pushing the envelope as far as possible.

An article about oil premix ratios from 1978, back when I was racing my modified Yamaha: pg.1, pg. 2, pg. 3, pg. 4.
Thanks fellas, synth and ethanol free are both readily available here. Upjetting and motorcycle speeds are both things I want to avoid for now, wanna keep the Bat stock as much as possible, plus the whole point in getting a moped was to avoid the need for insurance.
Ethanol really isn't a problem if you use more than 1 tank of fuel a year.

No need to run the trash...………...look up where we've shown how to remove it entirely from your small engine stash of fuel. So simple to do.
