Shouldn't be a problem in most states.
Your title has a class thingy I.E.and sdn for sedan or sw as station wagon the box should be mps or such not ms or mc that is sufficient for reg.
In Minnesota, my FA50 noped is registered as a moped. Anything with two wheels and below 50cc is classified as a moped; otherwise, it is classified as a motorcycle. (edited)
Not all states are the same, it will be specific to your state. Here if it doesn't have pedals it has a title and it's a motor driven scooter.
Sorry .Im california for some reason when i updated the post with the info it did no save.
According to moped army's wiki it looks likely it will be registered as a scooter/motorcycle.
Also, according to the registration form for mopeds in California you will not be able to as pedals are a MUST for moped registration. (edited)
Yes, what im asking is if any one has said it had peddles and gotten the dmv to reg as a moped insted of a noped.
So you're asking us to tell you to commit a felony.
So according to a Reddit post, the FA50 needs to be registered as a scooter and considering that the FA50 is a noped, you'll need to get your M1 license then.
Even if it were possible to register it as a moped, technically in California you'd be breaking the law and your bike would have a false registration classification. While I am sure 99% of officers wouldn't know/care, it only takes 1 officer to ruin your day.
Wasn't aware this was a thing in California, kinda lame. (edited)

Yeah. Royal expensive pain in the ass. My 3 Urbans cost me close to $400/yr for registration in good old CA.
$133 per moped!? Holy crap, it's like $12 here in Minnesota, only $16 for a real motorcycle.
Do "real" mopeds have to pay for yearly reg though?
In New York it can normally be registered. In states like new jersey the cops actually check to see if you have pedals or at least their allowed to.
Im curious if they research what they register or if the system just automatically goes by what the registration form says like fudging it and saying it has peddles. (edited)

Yep. Each Urban is $110 for reg and $22 county fees.
Real moped: one time $20 unless it's changed. CA wants that money.
If you have a title and it has mop in the class box you just run it Like it has pedals. Look at it as an oversight. If you just have the paperwork they are not looking at the bike.you are over thinking it.
The dreaded one titled a wildfire 125cc as a Tomos he even got pulled over 2x and never got found out.
