I was looking at the polini variator @ Treats. Comments by So Schweets stated when installed with the blue dust cap, the Bravo side cover is unable to use. Does anyone know if that's because of just the dust cover or the variator. And is the dust cover needed since the hub of the cover doubles as a cover? I just don't wanna end up with a expensive paperweight?
I have the Polini variator on my Bravo. I run the blue cover on it with no sidecover interference issues at all.
I also had issues with both the polini cap and side cover, so I leave it off.

Mine was runbbing with the blue cover off, so I cut the oval out on my side cover.

blue cover is dumb, it falls off instantly anyhow
Yeah the blue cover is the only bad part of the Polini.
