Hi All,
Newbie here, quick question, just bought a 1967 deluxe version planning on popping a new mobeycane av7 engine into the old Raleigh rm6 but would like to know if anyone has fitted a different carb than the gurtner version?
cheers

Very cool bike! Nice score.
Superb chaps thank you for the link, so my only other question will the av7 with top mounting fit this frame? Ive got a full workshop to fabricate things so no probs in modifying, just wondering about the electronic ignition side, whether it will work as a straight bolt in as here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Block-engine-AV7-full-air-New-scooter-cyclo-Motobecane-moped-mob/202612616602?epid=8011251792&hash=item2f2ca72d9a:g:GtAAAOSwoW1ceUlU:rk:3:pf:1&frcectupt=true

The engine mounts on the cylinder head will not work on the Raleigh frame , they're meant for mounting on Motobecane 50 style frames . You can just use the cylinder head from the old engine in place of the cylinder head from the eBay engine for ease of installation .
I'm not sure about the electronic ignition system on the eBay engine .
Have you considered rebuilding the original engine ? It's pretty easy . (edited)
keep it og please
Many thanks, good idea, was hoping to try and run a slightly different set up as want to rebuild the original engine/head to put back in at a later date ,How about this type?? Electrics will be the usual work it out as I go then....
That one also has the top engine mount cast into the cylinder head so it won't work unless you swap the head from the old engine onto it .
you should call these people ,
They're the Raleigh experts
