I like how you sanded the edges of the cylinder head fins down to metal to contrast with the black, nice touch.

Pro tip for the next time you glue up clutches, just make one long strip of cork to wrap around it while gluing, and cut the gaps after its cured. Easier than finagling 3 small pads into place

thanks dudes. i've lined the clutches three times and it never occurred to me. your right about the cork strips. everytime you tighten the hose clamp it pulls the strips along with it. i ended up with JB weld all over my hands adjusting and sliding them back in place. iam almost out of cork so when this lining fails iam gonna look into the stuff from mcmaster. I just don't want to blow up the transmission with aggressive friction lining. (edited)

I would advise against any lining other than cork. In my experience, the stock clutch with a brake pad type material can sometimes chatter and not engage smoothly. Especially on the 2nd gear clutch.

If you have to try it, try it on the 1st gear, not 2nd.

Re: Tomos sprint refresh

Cork is perfect for the stock cylinder. Jb is the best too. Good job on the refresh. I'm glad you didn't just slap a kit on it. A ported a55 can be so fun and cheap.

I was able to get the bike out and start breaking it in and tunning. i did a some 10 miles on it in two rides. at first I didnt go past 35mph pulsing the throttle. on the second run i warmed it up same as the first then said "fuck it, if it snags it snags" and did a couple of top speed pulls. I never held it wide open for more than a couple of seconds but it got to 46mph

iam running the stock airbox(modified), 60 main jet, needle on the first clip position from the top. the bike is geared 27t on the front and 22t on the back it runs strong and didnt lose much take off. feels a bit rich through the range especially on the lowend. the max temp was 287f but overall iam happy with the performance I'd like to iron out the boggyness on take off. maybe drop a jet or drill another hole in the airbox iam not sure. 46mph on a stock A55 top end, with the stock intake/carb/airbox? That's about as good as it gets! Nice work!!

thanks Brandon. couldn't have done it with out the community!

Re: Tomos sprint refresh

Spring for a 20t on the rear and you should be able to 50. I love me an a55 cylinder!
