Mmmmmmmmm warm climate, I would even ride a Jawa for some of that right now....teasing, nice bike.
Thanks Steven. I'm exploring Jawas because everyone hates them. Hobbit Jamarcol pipe, Puch intake 15MM Runtong and respoked rear wheel with 2.75 tire. It sings right along at an honest 34MPH.
YW, they ARE hated, but I remember a buddy of mine had one way back in '83 I think? He beat it, and it never did not run, orange step thru, he jumped a curb and tore the exhaust off, rode it anyway, you could hear him for about 15 mins before he arrived. :) I liked the thing, but then I'm a Motobecane guy..so yeah. Jawa's seem to have bad electrical issues, how have or have you worked around those?
The two I resuscitated both had thyristors that worked but cut out when revved. New ones from The Jawa Shop were inexpensive and solved the problem. 17 day ship time from The Czech Republic was the only down side. Don't tell anyone though...
You should put their web-site on the wiki, it may well get more of these back on the road? Awww, 17 days from halfway around the world? We suffer so...used to take months to go that far! :) At least they are available. If you are into searching this site, there was a guy who built the hell out of Jawa mopeds, look around, he knew his stuff, I can't remember his name though. There were some who claim to have built their own thyristors?
All large-wheeled mopeds are cool. We don't hate them,we just don't look to buy them a lot of times.
I like it's a top-tank.
Find any of them Florida moped riders yet?
Nope. Mostly scooters here. Had some people interested in the Jawa at Snook's though.
Theres a tutorial on the wiki to build your own thyristor. it's stupid easy and makes a fucking lightning gun. BZZAPPO!
I built 2 just because most of the parts came in 2 packs from radioshack (back when you could still buy electronics parts ther)
they worked great. its v easy.
I take it you're not in Pittsburgh... Which part of florida?

sumbitch migrates to god’s waiting room for the winter months and drinks out of coconuts until he has to see our fine asses again in the spring
I read about building your own thyristor, priced the Parts and decided to just buy original. I mean, I wanted to build my own but the capacitor cost was high and then there was that minimum shipping charge. Then there was the fact that this top taskbar the integrated coil/thyristor unit.
No Nips, you just wish you were blasting with me right now here in GWR. Which is a little bit south of Venice FL.
It was 82 today near JAXville. I hadda fix the brake noise on my Lincon LS,but perfect riding weather.
No snow and blasting anytime is a nice reward for the penance of home maintenance, here in GWR.
