the Yamaha Towny in Yamaha Yellow no less. I was selling a white Towny and indicated in my ad that I had two and didn't need one. A buyer contacted me and he inquired about my other Towny as well. He wanted to know what color it was. I told him it was yellow but I didn't really want to sell it and it needed a few things.

He paused and then replied, "Yamaha Yellow, huh?" I didn't even know the paint color was called Yamaha Yellow but I replied, "It sure is."

He was an hour away but said he'd be in town that Friday. Sure enough he showed up Friday morning. I had the white one out and he asked if I could bring out the yellow one to show him. I brought the yellow one out and explained that it didn't have a battery, probably needed a new turn signal relay, and I'm sure there were other things including my reluctance to sell it.

He shrugged it off and said, "Gotta have that Yamaha yellow. It's worth an extra hundred to me."

I paused and quickly made the decision to part with the Yamaha Yellow Towny.

"Well, do you want to start it up."

He replied, "No, that's ok. I'll take it."

Now I had put a pretty liberal number on the price tag to begin with because it took me two years to find my first Towny. He couldn't get the cash out of his pocket quick enough, loaded up the Towny and was gone.

Somewhat bewildered, I decided to investigate further. Turns out the buyer was the owner of Hale's Yamaha dealership in Mansfield, Ohio.

Just goes to show ya, you never know who's going to come out of the woods. (edited)
