well that's the nice thing about capitalism, it doesn't really care whether you believe in it or not. once people have better choices they will vote with their feet and wallets.
you can be like me and still use a flip phone in 2018 but when you jump in a pool with it in your pocket and your wireless carrier won't activate a phone now without the app installed.... capitalism will force you into making a decision.
i think the film camera analogy is pretty apt. You can still shoot 35mm if you want to but very few people choose to do that, the economy of scale has shifted and film stock is harder and more expensive to get, etc. 10 years from now, gasoline passenger cars are going to look like that whether or not you believe in it.
