You only need to have ball bearings at 3 or 4 points on that starter clutch bearing. As long as you have a ball at 120 degree, 240 degree, and 360 degree positions or at 90 degree,180 degree, 270 degree and 360 degree, you are good.

Extra balls in the holders don't matter as long as you have these positions covered or close to it.

But they need oil, so make sure the trans never runs very low of non-detergent 20W or 30W. The MO2 takes 15 oz. of oil.
