Admitting I have a problem is the first step...,

Just 5 months ago I thought it might be fun to relive a memory from the past and find a 70’s moped. Not being sure if this was a passing phase or new hobby I decided to find one that needed some work this would give me a project as well as keep the cost down.

Well here it is 5 months later and I have 3 of those darn mopeds, a 80 Puch a 78 Cimatti that I took for its first cruise today, poor bike sat dormant for darn near 4 decades, she ran strong and proud today, and my latest child, a 78 Benelli that is on the bench.

I was just sitting here having a beer looking at my growing family of mopeds had to to admit that I might have a problem lol...

Re: Admitting I have a problem is the first step...,

Heavy medication helps.

If you're not stumbling and the wrenchs don't look like they're wiggling around like worms in your hand you need more medication

Question: How many Mopeds do you need?

Answer: One more!!!!

Re: Admitting I have a problem is the first step...,

Worse than crack. Started with one then learned about kits etc and have three and a donorcycle and more tools than I ever thought I'd buy. Working on them is really meditative though

Amen too that. Hours pass when I’m working on my mopeds.

Now that you've got more than one, you need to be extremely careful. Two very important moped things to remember:

Always keep an eye out for the assholes coming from the other direction, wanting to make a left turn in front of you,

and...

Never let them sit too close to each other for any length of time, because they will multiply rapidly and you could end up with a nasty infestation for your loved ones to deal with when you pass.

It appeared to me you were at sunrise and you hit the throttle not to break.

Ones too many & a thousand isn't enough. I've accumulated a lifetimes worth of projects. Nobody around here to wrench or ride with. Bummer in that department.

You're a grown-up you made the Life Choices you've talked about moving but I have yet to see you move out to the country and do things I suggest you just sell off a lot of your crap and take a nice trip somewhere while we can still move freely around most of the world.

Just don't tell anyone you're from the United States.

Re: Admitting I have a problem is the first step...,

Same things has been happening to me, I notice i had a really problem when my brother and his friends ask me to see one of my peds and I had to literally move like 6 mopeds around just to get the one they wanted out.

Moped's are a good investment.. so yea buy more !

Just don't keep junk around, work on one bike until it's done or ul never finish, and don't forget what ped ur working on

And keep written notes on what you've done on each or it will make you crazy when you go back to correct something. All of mine are same bike with different setups. Makes my life so much easier.

To be honest I don’t have much money tied up in my collection, all together I’m at about $1000 for 3 mopeds, special tools and parts needed to repair the first 2.

Around here it’s not easy finding what I find affordable project bikes. There either really, really rough for more then I would pay or pretty much already built for $800-$1000.
