Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

14 12 or 15 15 sha gotta love em

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

16 SHA.....Actually pretty decent on a ported A35 and long as you modify the slide. Shit was faster than the dudes kited A35 with a VM18.

The ideal carb in my opinion for a tomos is a 16/16 SHA w/ custom made straight shot intake. My last tomos with that set up and a 70cc kit would do about 53 mph with all sorts of take off.

I also love the Dellorto PHVA 17.5. Ran that on a kitted Puch for awhile and my Derbi GPR50RR.

I never cared for Bings however i do have a 14mm and a 17mm bing sitting in a box for the future to play with.

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

21mm phgb, even if I spell it wrong, always, these are for my 70cc.

16mm phgb fro my 50cc's

in all serouisness I love an official sha on the mobys, but have switched to phgb.

ive just been making intakes for a 16mm on my citybike and for the puch 70xx k-star.

But have we forgot about the Dakar clone carbs with the air fuel screw.....duh.

First off, comparing bings to SHAs is kinda like comparing apples to oranges. If we're in puch land.. chances are we're goin with the bing. Once that bitch stops leakin and we get the needle tuned just right... it's damn near perfect. We aren't even feelin' the need to touch a SHA.

Secondly, 15mm bing? I can't help but feel like 90% of y'all are referring to experiences that occurred with 14mm bings. We're talkin 15mm death match here. Get cho lyin ass 14mm history outta here.

With that out of my system ( sorry ), 15mm SHA all fuckin' day. Jet it and forget it baby! Oh your low end is kinda rich? TOO BAD. It's a SHA world and you're just livin in it. Y'all that are die hard bing fanatics are lookin at the world with puch-tinted glasses. Look at the big picture... v1? SHA. Moby? SHA. Peugeot? SHA. Derbi? SHA. Morini? SHA. Bike that no one cares about? Probably a SHA.

yup. gonna say that. its been said. i like that bings are a lil more tuneable but at that point get a phbg and use all those jets you got laying around from shas. daily rider looking for good gas mileage sha all day

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

I’m with Feldman.

My view is Bing for Puch, SHA on everything else.

This man gets it, you ready to come the flat slide side Charlie?

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

You can tune the slide to get good low end on a SHA and be able to run a bigger jet so you keep your temps down and don’t lock that thing up.

I always refer people to Graham’s blog about SHAs. Half way down it talks about slide modification.

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

I run SHA on most of my bikes but only because they came with them. Bing all day. Just better. That said, the best carb is the carb you have.

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

So many Puchs here, so Bings for me. Original 15 Bing is far superior to original 15/15 SHA, in my honest opinion, but SHA does have its' place with most other brands so I do have a couple lying around.

Clone SHA > clone Bing though.

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

actually, Sabat will be with me on this one 110%

15mm AMAL. fucking real deal on Puch, on Piston Port Puch kits on Tomos, on Piston Port Derbi. fits on a SHA intake

real good stuff, and WAY more tunable then either.

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

***VANILLA BLUNDER*** /

Bing have adjustable needles, automatically making them more tunable and therefore better, than a sha.

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

yo, errybody knows, the 15 bing is whack. it's all about the 14 bing. kinda same deal as the 16/1 shas. the smaller one tunes in more betterer. i mean, whateyer yo, that's just like, my opinion an shit...

as for who's better, sha vs bing, ehhh, i like them both. the square bing sucks and the square sha is cool. howzat?

Luv the 14mm bing, ya the 15 and 17mm bings are harder to tune on pp port kits but on puch polini and reed kits they almost tune themselves

Re: Bing vs SHA, The 15mm show down!

Charles Cole (OFMC) /

Like Roff said; easiest carb I've ever tuned. I have no idea how peeps can say they have difficulty with them. Parts are cheap & accessible. when needed.

Ya the 15-17mm Amals are good carbs though the Jets are expensive
