Addiction

Is anyone else addicted to fixing/upgrading your bike. I've probably spent at least 1000 bucks on parts on mine. I just want the reassurance that I'm not the only one.

Re: Addiction

Nah, you're not crazy, I've spent more money on my old 1986 Tomos for repair/upgrades then I paid for the bike itself (which was $650), could have purchased much newer bike for the money spent buying the bike plus all the parts not to mention the time spent repairing it, but on the positive note, learned a lot about it while doing all the repairs. I have a mild addiction to MOBAs, but I think it's mostly that I'm addicted to winning.

Re: Addiction

it really hit me a month ago, when I went into my past orders on Treats and added them all up. over $2000 over the past four years... and I still haven't made it to 45 mph. the amount of time and energy I pour into this... is it really worth it? wold I have been smarter to buy a Sym Wolf Classic 150?

Well at the very least it certainly has been fun! Of course, I could say the same thing about cocaine, and... okay maybe i am addicted to mopeds.

MA = Mopeds Anonymous ?

You too? We should play.

Re: Addiction

Yes it is an addiction... to take a bike and make it your own. To have something no one else can duplicate. This is my addiction.

I tend to do the extremes. Either totally stock or full blown mod to make it my own. It is great to make up a bike that no one can easily duplicate.

It is a GREAT ADDICTION.

Re: Addiction

The Honda Rebel 250 would be the perfect bike as it's made for saddle bags and other storage and easily cruises at 55mph and even has that biker look...

I like the Honda Nighthawk better. A little sportier. Great engine.

Moped Lar (OFMC) /

I've been addicted to peds since 1977. It doesn't get any better over the years.

Re: Addiction

I always thought "ped" meant "Performance Enhancing Drug".

Motor and performance enhancing drug = moped.

It's only an addiction if you admit to it. And never, never show your wife the receipts!!!
