Hey guys i know this site is for mopeds. Ive read a few forums on the honda C100. So i bought a Honda cub C100 and i need help figuring out the year of the bike. Here is the vin.... C100-D069588. The guy told me it was a 1963 and a japanese model but i don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated and links where to buy parts.
The only way to tell year is a small tag on the wiring harness just above the motor. The actual year may be up to one year later.

What causes you to need the year? At that time, the year of the bike on the title would be the year it was sold.
Sometimes things you haven't seen before are quite common, like your ignition coils...
Everybody wants to know what year their bike is. Most older Cubs don't have clear history. They were titled when they were sold therefore a title could be three years after production. These were the most sold, most popular bikes of all time world-wide.
The wiring harnesses are the closest you can get to manufacture date but can be up to 2 years off. Most are close to production date.
I've had many of these, still have three. They are great. My bike friends pick on me when I ride one down, I have a GL1500 and CBR1000 also and ride whatever feels right that day.
Yeah I'm sure my friends will be giving me a hard time about this bike. I just bought a 2016 Yamaha fz-07. I was looking it over looks like some bypassed the coil in the case and has one under the gas tank.
All of them are under the tank on the cubs. (C100-102, CT's, C70 etc)
You will get some ribbing for the bike but everyone will want to ride it.
it's funny cuz it's so outdated but yahoo groups specifically Honda cubs and pushrod Honda 50's are still the best resources for Honda cub info anywhere.
I love the cubs, I got a project one in the garage and I started out my whole adventure on one like 8 years ago
