I recently purchased a cottage and found a 1980 NC50 in excellent condition albiet quite dirty. I've cleaned it up and got it running but the carburetor is way out of adjustment. I've been to http://expresslymopeds.50megs.com/expresspage.html#mods but I'm still looking for more help. I have no manual and I'm trying to find the difference between the two adjustment screws on the carb. Could anyone help me out? Thanks!

I will check the head gasket. I have already replaced the fuel filter and petcock and am in the process of getting the gaskets to overhaul my carburator, which leaks. Hopefully this will keep it from dying after 3 or 4 minutes.

I was just recently was given a '77/'78 express (NC50) and I just want to get her running. I got her to crank a couple of times, but she just puts out black smoke and dies. The lady who gave it to me said she had not cranked it in 10yrs. Anyway, I was wondering if you would email me any pages in that Haynes manual that pertain to my moped. I would greatly appreciate. Ryan,
The color of your smoke is a big clue. A good running ped (2 stoke) should put out a light blue (oil burning)
Black smoke means way to rich fuel. Check and see if the choke is actually opening..check the air cleaner to see if any air could possibly get through.

I need a photo of the wiring under the seat, specifically the end of the positive wire from the battery, I've got a fuse connector end and some spagettied wires, the diagram shows some kind of connector, but a picture would help. Any starter springs out there? or how to convert it into a crank start?

Yes, I have a manual and it is a simple system. I would like a photo to suss out what the missing component of the wiring looks like, rather than what is abstractly infered by the diagram. Just want an idea of what I have to come up with next.
