plug chop

im not sure i understand how to do a plug chop after reading freds guide, please carify

Re: plug chop

warm up the motor with a new spark plug (10 min). Go to top speed for a half mile. Immediatly shut off the motor; don't let it idle! take out the plug, and look at the color. It should be tan. darker is ok, but if it's lighter, you are in trouble.

Re: plug chop

which part am i supposed to be lookin at, the white ceramic pert, or the part with the gap?

Re: plug chop

i misspelled "part", sorry.

Re: plug chop

Re: plug chop

hehe. you'll know it when you see it. it's the formerly white part (shouldn't be white after a chop) :)

Re: plug chop

nope, nevermind, i looked it up and misspelled has two s's

Why is it called a "plug chop?"

It sounds like either it's something good grilled with corn-on-the-cob or else some kind of karate tactic.

cuzz calling it a 'turnip' would be stupid

Oh.

Why didn't I think of that?

Re: plug chop

it's the part where you gap it. there is white ceremic in there, under the metal conductor. it should be golden brown.
