can someone tell me a good minarelli set up?

merlin311 /

i don't want to go out and spend 300-400 in parts then none of them work together.

i want to stay 50cc because of dependability.but anything else ill mod the hell out of.

this is what miguel suggested

get a larger carburetor

get a larger main jet

get a larger manifold

get a larger front tooth sprocket

get a larger (or less restricted) airbox

get a performance exhaust

no names etc.im not familiar to these really only things i've done before we're bored .40 over briggs engine runnin on alcohol

so if someone knows a hot setup tell me ill be running sava slicks on it too it'll be pure street

Re: can someone tell me a good minarelli set up?

heres what im thinkin so far

15mm carb dellorto

11 tooth front sprocket

sava slicks

powerfilter(or a k&n)

fully tuned exhaust

and derestricting it

a rpm limiter variable(so if i get stopped by cops)(usual thing in this town

i dunno though ill see what everyone else thinks

Re: can someone tell me a good minarelli set up?

i'm not sure what some of the things you suggested for yourself would do (e.g. rpm limiter or sava slicks). but here's what's on my minarelli ...

12-tooth front sprocket

dellorto 15.15mm carb w/ #55 jet

polini performance exhaust

fully derestricted airbox

whats is the speed your getting?

Re: can someone tell me a good minarelli set up?

i'm not sure on my top speed ... but it's at least 35mph. but ... w/ such a large front tooth, my acceleration is piss poor. i'm thinking of dropping down to 11-tooth front sprocket.

yea thats why i wanted an 11 tooth cuz getting any further u have no accelleration.have you thought about cutting the red wire on your cdi and installing a rev limiter?because performance exhausts peak out at 1500-2000rpm above stock.

you can get a rev limiter from 50cc.nl for 23 bux or so.

newest idea...

70cc kit

tuned exhaust

21mm carb and doppler intake

it all comes out to like 270 or so us from 50cc.nl

this is the main jest of it other then transmission mods(which alil may have to be done or im going to have like no powerband)

one more? anyone know about what size jet im going to need on that last set up?

All Those Mods for Meager Results?

Miguel,

I haven't done any mods to my Cimatti/Minarelli yet and I'm getting 30 mph. It seems as though you've gone to a lot of trouble to get only five mph, especially including the steeper front sprocket.

I'm working on getting the exhaust and new carb, but now I'm wondering if it's worth the cost and bother to get only 2-3 mph (I wouldn't do the sprocket change.)

JD

P.S. How fast was your moped before the modifications, and how much do you weigh (if it's not too personal)?

Re: All Those Mods for Meager Results?

I am sure miguel wouldn't mind that you ask how much he weighs...I am going to guess a buck o five. :)
