Selling price for 1977 Lazer Sport 50 Minarelli V1?

Hey everyone,

Thinking about selling my 1977 Lazer Sport 50 Minarelli V1 top tank. Completely disassembled everything but the motor a couple of years ago and built it back up, keeping everything mostly stock with some improvements:

- Professional black semi-gloss powder coated frame

- New Schwinn style pedals

- New Royal Enfield/Honda CB style low handlebars

- NOS bullet headlight

- New chrome spring shocks

- New tires/tubes (Michelin Gazelles)

- New petcock and fuel line/filter

- NOS air box cover

- NOS Plastic Minarelli V1 engine/fan cover

- New carb caskets

- NOS exhaust pipe

Moped runs as good as any other moped from 1977. Speedo stopped working since the speedo thing in the hub wore out, but I have a replacement hub - just never got around to installing it.

Spray painted, clear coated and buffed the tank and side covers black with white stripes on the tank. Clearcoat on the tank got messed up a little but it looks alright. Custom decals to make it look like a Norton…but says Minarelli in the Norton font.

So……..based on all of this any idea what I should ask for this thing???

Thanks!

Pictures are worth a thousand words, or in this case... an appraisal.

Okay, fair enough, I'll get some good pics when the weather clears up….probably this weekend. Until then, here's the only pic I have that shows it post-refinishing.

It looks clean and is also a desirable model/engine but moped value has more to do with where you are then what it is. I don't know about Maryland but in Chicago (where demand is high) I would ask $700-800, in NYC $900-1000. In an area with less demand $300-400 would be reasonable. MA buy/sell is a great place to sell.

@ Andy, in Maryland it would command about $300-$400. That's my guess at least. Also... good morning!

Re: Selling price for 1977 Lazer Sport 50 Minarelli V1?

I bet you could squeeze $500-600 out of it.

Re: Selling price for 1977 Lazer Sport 50 Minarelli V1?

Looks complete, 500 is fair.

Thanks everyone! I was really hoping for $800 in DC area since I paid $500 and put alot into it. When I brought it up to my wife she flipped…so I guess I'll be hanging on to it for a while.

Thanks!

It's common to loose quite a bit of money selling something you've restored. At least with a moped you're only loosing a few hundred, where as with a car you could loose thousands.

Yeah, that's true!

Did you ever move this bike. It’s right up the alley of what I’m searching for.
