I added pedals back to mine. They are just for show but legally they gotta be there in this state. What gearing are you running? I have 14/31 and can go faster in 3rd than in fourth. So it's too tall will need to gear down. Tried a 24mm Chinee carb but could not find jets, so I went to a 26mm real Mikuni and am at about a 150 jet. Used a spinner and a monkeybike intake that is pretty long to get the carb mounted. The revival has a 3inch rear tire as well. Will go back to savas when the snow is gone. Running dirt bike tire in the snow.
Same gearing here but I'm gonna swap the front for a 16t
Didn't jay just help you not long ago work on this maxi?
I went the easy way and bought mounts from monster mopeds. Did some welding and added metal to keep it strong as I could.
Nice looking bike. Mine is pretty heavy but handles very well with the Lifan. I am adding a fuel pump because my carb is higher than half my tank. Easy to do with a scooter pump and tap the intake. Not sure I am jetted perfect yet but it will come. Good luck with your gearing, I may need to go to 13/33. I GPSed over 55 the other day.
HEY I GOT OVER 55 ON MY KAWASAKI NINJA 250 THE OTHER DAY! my motorcycle is better than yours.
jokes aside, i got a ct70 the other day with some chinese manual 140. rocketa i think. It also came with a 90cc 4 speed SSR motor. It's the brand new setup you'd buy from whatever online shop, with intake etc but no carb, wires but no CDI or coil, no pipe but otherwise complete. I will sell it for $1 per cc.
thats actually tempting!
my goal with my lifan is to gear it to top out at an absolute max of 50 nut really target it 45
my daily commute is half 15 mph speed limits and half 25
or motorcycle..
have fun getting that as a legal road bike.

as did I. I thought, "hey, cheapish inverted forks! Those have to better than regular ebrs" I was sadly disappointed.

john_mastro/Rap Scalion is a bitter old man who hates. pretty much everything he posts is cess-ridden negativity. (edited)
Nice build Mike Puch! Wow Rick Zieresis only 55? any e50 with a kit and a little of this and that could do 55 no problem.
The carb looks really high in comparison to the tank. I'm estimating you're getting maybe .4 gallons per tank before you cut out?
that looks great
but why does everybody put those pit bike exhausts on instead of a cub style side exhaust
A real moped takes constant fix'n, and the European (not Asian) foreign parts tend to rattle off and/or break more often.

not really
my jawa 210 was the most reliable thing I ever owner always started right up and ran all day with no problems
"generally" I should'a said...I had a DT100 that ran for years without so much as a fouled plug. 8 yrs + 4 with sidecar (for grandkids) approx. 5000 miles. Only draw back (2 strokes) they tend to eat themselves up. Especially when ya start "tweek'em' for max speed/rpm. At least they're relatively easy/cheap to fix...generally.

Still playing with it as I have time.
Sure any e50 with a kit want to race me up these hills around here they are on.
Who cares about "real" mopeds lol

By the time you hit 55 with your e50 a lifan'd bike would be out of sight.
Who cares ^^ Id rather know I didn't waste a frame (edited)
man i've never seen a "lifan'd" maxi before. blah blah blah, gps'd at 55 the other day. Lol, my ns50 does 60 and will pull wheelies in 1st and 2nd and it's still hard to keep a lead on fast mopeds once you drop it into 4th. I bet any half way decent tuner could blast this turd. (edited)

Sounds like you've got some personal issues to work out. These are mopeds, not race cars. But.... I guess some people that's all they have in life. Get over yourself dude.
junk+junk=junk
Is all the hate because now it's a 4 stroke or because he used the cheap Chinese ko engine? Would it be equally offensive if he used a 70's Honda z50 motor? I think the handlebar grip combo takes away from it but over I think you did a really good job
