A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

What happened in 2014, what's the parts to remember?

Sortof inspired by the scootertrash nomination as builder of the year, I started thinking back to the good ones this last year.

Epic denver party, the final inverness rally, awesome galore.

Our first official year, fuck the swoops; casserollers and Mono get in but another disappointment for UB and MCR

New parts? can't think of many, the boner pipe mod thing was tight, hammer was '13 right?

Sachs got the Airsal 70 with removable head. people used them, they compare favorably with existing sachs kits.

Hobbits got the derbi kits, and ran out of TJTs

garage on 1977 gets updates and integrated but they still can't get shipping 100%.

Pinball 2 was won on a stock ported tomos

TAT happened and was awesome

builds are there, that dude with the crazy fuckload of effort adapting a kit on a jawa, scooter's stuff always crazy and amazy,

alot less mike biery than 2013 but more joe peg.

John mastro and his many fakes finish the year off strong with a solid & consistent nuisance.

Herbi was pretty good,

and craig dueck's moby in classic timeless style

The TAT bikes, totally rad - next level dirtped builds

brett's TAT Monza fuuuuucckkkk yessss

What am I missing? So much I'm sure.

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

Don't forget Tomahawk cup last year which was an amazing event as well.

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

I remember more of this year because I didn't get black out drunk at rallies...

Awesome year guys, keep it going!!

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

You should record this in the style of a newscast. Good stuff.

I have the problem of getting shitfaced, but still remembering it... like waking up at dawn curled upon a dumpster-find roll of foam in the front stoop of a bank, then crawling miles back to the mono shop, and finishing my night's rest in a cardboard box under a dumpster.

2014.

I need more news though. I can't record a newscast because i'd be setting myself as he SOLE source of news and would, obviously, be omitting a buch of a good year's events.

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

Denver was a good one.

Getting into MA: super rad.

I bought my V2! And then broke it and fixed it and broke it and fixed it and broke it and and then Angel and Biggie helped me fix it again and then I broke it again.

And Pinball was my favorite moped event of the year. #TBT to that time Angel gave Rick and Josh matching ass tattoos of Alex Groh's face in my living room:

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

You forgot the west coast swoops debacle will.

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

this year was pretty shitty for me, probably the worst year i've lived through..hopefully 2015 will be better.

And then I let you sleep in my sleeping bag with all of the Buzzards rally gas money in the zipper pocket lol. You weren't going anywhere, so I knew the money was safe.

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

My C2 was stolen and recovered!

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

Jayson Sumter committed social suicide... Or something.

Edit:that may have been last year. My mind is mush(edited)

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

Oh vespa had a stellar year, my ciao was the first vespa to complete jtt. Then team vespa finished pinball (way more impressive) and my bravo took third overall at the totfest races against some way more impressive bikes.

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

i didn't buy a kreidler this year. it's the first time in 6 years that that has happened. i've been saving to restore my florett.

here is a few pics of this thing that i think will work.

first off here is the frame i made to house the rest of the junk

CopyofOCDPBampJ0032.JPG

there are 4 rubber bushings hanging low on the frame that hold this engine mount.

enginemountandslide005.jpg

the steel thing it is sitting on is a slide. and the motor mount slides forward and back as you throttle it. that bolts up to the frame.

enginemountandslide004.jpg

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

Thanks for the props on my TAT build.

the engine slides and is belted to the small pulley on the end of this jack shaft

454.JPG

this pic is the hobbit engine turned around and belted to the small pulley with a 50 shock keeping the tension.

slayer002.jpg

that shaft it on bearings and tranfers to this side with a TJT.

slayer001.jpg

which is dual variated to the hobbit transmission in the mb5 wheel.

i have posted this up over a couple years as i have been building it. but this is the first year anyone here has seen it in person.

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

Haha, wut?

Re: A Year in Review, builds, innovations, heartbreaks & rallies

Mind = blown

Think of it like a Moby or Pug operation into dual var.

Or like a Moby or pug that you don't have to regear

Instead of the clutch-variate-belt-pulley-sprocket-chain-sprocket-wheel (Moby)

It goes clutch-variator-belt-pulley--variator-belt-rear var-hobbit trans-wheel.
