Why are derbi's so desirable?
Why are derbi's so desirable?
They are variated and they're easy to make fast. Plenty of aftermarket parts available too. Plus once it becomes the "in" bike, everyone wants one, just like magnums were.
They are not copys of Sachs G-3. Did I menshion I have a Sachs G-3? It is a great putt.

Derbi rules the 2-stroke 50cc genre. From variated mopeds to 50cc dual sports to 50cc sport bikes. Derbi has won 8 gpr world championships.
if you rode one that was tuned up and .. blasted stock 40mph, you'd see why there so awesome but ugly .. in same way.
Ok, I see now
nasty kits, case induction, big variators, chain final drive.
closest thing to a scooter and stiul a moped

older ones/models are piston port
I only got one to annoy the dudes at treats
piston port derbi motors run puch kits. even more awesome.
revolutionnnnnn
revolutions r rad, but they never came with pedals. just sayin'...
I think you meant "revolucion"
derbis are gay.
The only derbi I rode was straight, it didn't hit on me.
Lamborghini never made a moped. They left that up to Derbi.
honestly, they are amazing bikes. The dual variation coupled to a chain drive is the ultimate variated setup. The engines are powerful as hell, too. Mine pulled like crazy even going up hill.
They are a pain in the ass to work on, though. And mine was completely spastic. Everything it did was unpredictable. Acceleration, cornering, braking... completely random. Oh, and don't ever push-start that mofo if you don't want to watch it ghost-ride into the nearest obstacle.
Because Matthew Broderick.
Quality is levels above all other mopeds I've ridden. REeally great engineering on every part of these bikes.
i rode willies mild ass kitted one and it ripped harder than my french turd i put over grand into. that moment, i fully understood the derbi hype
They are like mopeds, but better.
Oh and they are also mopeds
Derbi knew what they were doing.
They made one engine for all markets and restricted how they needed to sell in each market.
Flat reeds for America come restricted on the variator and the intake.
They restricted them in a way that made it so easy for any one with a big enough socket could derestrict them.
Carb + pipe = 45+mph.
With a mild port job and removing 3 variator weights. Your in the 50 range. On a stock cylinder!!
ˆ That is a terrible picture.
