Transporting a moped

53 miles from his house to mine. He wouldn't hear of me picking it up, as it would have taken the fun out of it for him.....

Re: Transporting a moped

Patrick Keaton /

I would have removed the seat post.

Re: Transporting a moped

That is just crazy! I'm hoping it is just the camera angle, but the seat-post on the moped looks dangerous at that angle.....this may well be the best pic of 2014! Bet he got some strange looks on the highway! ^Ok someone else saw that? (seat post) (edited)

Re: Transporting a moped

He took the seat off and fit in between the frame (he's a small guy). I did tell him that when his moped's done, he won't know about it until I'm on my way to deliver it to him.

Re: Transporting a moped

@Shelly, the seat itself is not the issue, but the post....tell me it is a foot or so off the the right of the seat on the motorcycle? Not right behind him? (that is how it looks in the photograph). That is one Bad ass BMW!

Re: Transporting a moped

The post was on the side of him as he was riding.

This is his 2nd BMW. He crashed the first one with 40k miles on it and the insurance co totalled it, whereas he bought a new one. Very nice bike if you like the plastic look...I prefer the older motorcycles.

Re: Transporting a moped

I love the BMW Boxers, old school, shaft drive, but those are really nice too...the one he has, there is a guy around here who rides his year-round, batshit crazy if you ask me, winter is no time for two wheels, but whatever. The post still should have been removed, as if he crashed it would have skewered him.

Re: Transporting a moped

Re: Transporting a moped

Haa! That's great, man after my own heart.

Re: Transporting a moped

After draining the gas and oil I don't see a problem transporting it like that at all...
