Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

Hey guys... so this technique has been in use for many automotive applications on oil pans, but I thought I'd share the perfect ones for e50s and I'm sure they'd work for any other moped.

My clutch brace at one point was slightly grinding my clutch bell causing some metal dust to get into my tranny fluid. Instead of all that metal sloshing around in there, this magnet will keep it down by the drain plug and not in you r crank bearing, clutch bushing etc. God forbid you have any metal on metal grinding, but in case you do, this trick will minimize wear.

Here are the perfect sized magnets.

Here is how perfectly it fits under an e50! Magnificent!!

Like “Funkenet” Hosfield /

I've been thinking about doing this, but so I would trip the traffic light sensors.

Pro-Tip - You can get them from dead hard drives, there are usually 2 in there for the picking.

Re: Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

Sooo. How do ya get the metal out wit the oil? Remove the megnet when you drain it?

Re: Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

I've seen lots of four strokes that have a magnet attached to the oil drain bolt. Was considering making one for my tomos a while back.

Those little fuckers are perfect for something like this.

You can also use em to open those clear plastic security

boxes you'll find on video games in stores. heh heh

Re: Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

haha yep it will help with traffic lights too!

Maize, yes just remove the magnet when you drain. The metal will be slightly magnetized and my not flow out with your tranny fluid. Some may stay in that area until you split your cases and wipe out the metal shards. You can also try and wipe some of it out if you have your clutch cover off and clutch bell removed. Either way, the metal shards will stay in place down by the drain plug. These magnets are INSANELY strong.

Re: Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

Soo how do you attach the magnet to the aluminum cases?

There's enough steel in the area with the center stand and such, it just snaps in there and holds strong!

Re: Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

I use the hard drive magnets for holding metal to weld, tool holder on my drill press, (holds key and bits) also cleaning the yard or finding that lost nut/bolt/washer/spring/etc.

This is a must do for everyone.

Re: Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

microwaves have them big

Re: Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

**update... i do recommend using jbweld or something else to fix the magnet in place. it's so powerful, the center stand makes it move away from the position in the picture when it's kicked back!

Re: Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

i figured on the JB weld... but DAMN THIS IS A GOOD IDEA and i already have so many neodymiums floating around.

protip!

Re: Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

I run them in my cars, motorcycles and ZA transmissions.

Hot damn.

Now next time someone catches me in an alley smashing an old computer I can give them a better reason than "The Matrix" and "Terminator".

Re: Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

protip, theres already a magnet on the drain of a za50

Are you claiming there is a magnet on the drain made from the factory ?

If so,what and/or where is this exact part the magnet is on ?

x2 I've never worked on ZAs, just e50s

Re: Rare Earth Magnet Neodymium KEEPS metal crap away from good stuff!!!

Well, there aren't magnets on any of the 7 za's I have. Or any of the ones I've ever worked on.
