Chongqing JT50 moped

Steven Duffy /

I just got this moped in some trading. He claims that his buddy that was in military brought this moped to the US from China. It looks like a Honda PA50 copy. It runs great. He also said it wasn't sold in the US. The speedometer is in kilometers. It has 336 kilometers on it. I haven't check for the year yet,but he said it was a 1986.The only problem I will have it is not on the Ohio Moped list and does not have title. I it got mostly for a cool pit bike.Just checking to see if anyone has seen one of these.

Cargo rack in the middle looks cool.

Re: Chongqing JT50 moped

oh neat. swap it to a titled honda frame.

Re: Chongqing JT50 moped

the chinese made some really cool mopeds before the 2 stroke ban and like that one you can tell it was built for domestic use then exported

kind of like the kamasura but thats a million times better

I have one,but yours looks new.

Mine needs to be restored. Keep it out of the rain or it could look like mine.

New 2 strokes are not banned, they just have to be EPAed,like Tomos.

Most manufactures did not want to bother to have them EPAed after 2005.

Are these still available new in china.

the chinese government took all the 2 strokes off the road they dont have epa over there

they can still make 2 strokes but only for export

they blamed 2 stroke emissions not coal burning for their massive air pollution problem

Re: Chongqing JT50 moped

There are a few of these in the US. They may have been imported in small numbers.

That middle cargo rack is awesome! It's like a step-thru streetmate. Love it!
