makes you wonder why they would ever import them to America, land of the big and lazy. i ride with my lady all the time. i'm a big boy, together we're about 330lbs. stock, it was a bit sketchy of a ride with us both. with crossbrace, 5stars, MLM rear swingarm, beefy rear shocks on the highest preload, and nice new tires, it really feels like a pretty safe ride. disc brake also helps for safety.

Lose a bunch of weight and your moped goes faster, you fatties.

Yup. Even with rippers.

Puchs are great for 140lb and less riders.

Any more and they can really struggle.

I got 50lbs of extra ham I gotta carry, so no one speeds for me :(

Dang I'm screwed, I weigh almost twice the weight limit. Gotta say though my new eurokit on a korado bottom end maxi pulls this beefcake around with some pretty good pickup, should probably get a clutch brace before I bend that bad boy.

Any idea what my Vespa Grande Super Deluxe has for a max load capacity. I can't read the frame tag and have not seen a manual. It came with passenger pegs so I am assuming it must have a higher capacity than the average ped. I definitely think 10mm axles are on the risky side with a heavy load. 11mm is better but any peds I change wheels on get 12mm axles.

I'm over the limit. I've successfully rode doubles on a free spirit with 460 lbs of riders on it, lol. We eat lots of cow here in Nebraska.

Back when these bike were sold here, being heavy was not the issue it is today, "back when" I was 150 lbs soaking wet, and rode dub's all the time on a 50v, I knew people who did on a Puch as well, but those bikes always felt flimsy to me. I out weigh the limit on my Hobbit and it still gets up and goes. To whomever said what are mopeds without pizza? NOTHING! :) I could stand to drop a few, but my bikes still move me about just fine.

im 240 and a maxi runs fine with me on it. I need to lose some weight (edited)

A guy I know about 210lbs had his maxi split in half at the gas tank on him while he was riding. Had never leaked a drop of gas but was rusted to hell on the inside. I will get a photo of it next time I am down in the city. Maybe even one of his face if he was left any sweet scars.
