Just wondering if anyone knew anything about Solex mopeds. Because I might be buying one from my friend. He said it's from 1950 but that's all i know. I havn't looked at it yet, but i'm just wondering if there's anything else i should look for besides the basics.

No, but i saw that in the picture. How fast does it go, and is it easy to fix if it's broke?
If it goes back to the 50's, it will be next to impossible to get parts. Some parts may be available in Europe.
I would check to be sure it was as complete as possible, then buy it anyway as the early models are becoming rare.
Any Solex from the 3300 series forward can be repaired with currently available parts. Velocruz.com has most of everything you'll need for the later models.
Don't expect any Solex to be fast. They are about getting there and back in the most economical way. but they are fun to ride. I got 3 of them and a Micron scooter.

One nice thing about them is they're very light weight. It would be a good moped if you had to bring it up a flight of stairs into an apartment in the city or something.
I know that there is a large <a href="http://solexclub.freeyellow.com/" target="_blank">Solex Club</a>, though I can't say personally what kind of resources they offer their members.

Is the Yahoo Group for Solex. It has a bunch of info and technical stuff, including the Autopsy on my 4600.
If you read all the posts, you'll learn more than you never thought you could about the Solex.

its top speed is only about 25 mph....but its easy to fix (if u need help ask). there fun 2 ride.
