Increasing the speed on a Batavus Starflite?

FortFunFoSho /

Ideas here? I am not sure what mph version i have. But lets say I have the 20 mph, can I buy a sprockte to upgrade it? Is that the only difference? Or is there a difference in the carb as well?

Kind of clueless about Batavii...

Re: Increasing the speed on a Batavus Starflite?

The only thing different from the different mph versions were the sprocket size and different carb's. If you had a 20mph version you could change the carb and get a different size sprocket to increase the speed if you wanted to.

Sweet.. Any direct stores online who sell those parts?

Aside from ebay?

You should be able to get the carb from the moped warehouse, I'm not to sure were you would get the sprocket though.

question for Paul L

Spike Bachman /

Can you please tell me how to distinguish which speed my Starflite is? Or is supposed to be? Could I count sproket teeth? Also, do you know how to tell which speed carb I have? I bought it seperately from the rest of my Starflite.

Thanks, Spike

Spike,

I can't answer that. Mine has a sticker that says it is a 25 mph model but it has a hard time doing that.

Spike, look on your carb theres numbers, one says S 8 A -thats the 25mph, S22 is the 30mph, and I dunno what the 20 mph one has but if its not one of those its 20mph, I have the S 8 A on my batavus, and two complete extra ones, if anyones interested

Anyone know where i can get a 13 sprocket?

Re: question for Paul L

So we are saying:

A. 13 tooth sprocket

B. 30mph Carb

Anything else?

I saw the potential of using a biturbo exhaust but I dont know if I am ready to tackle that experiment yet.

Any other ideas?
