Lets play 'name that moped' ...

illenium Juergen /

Hi Guys, i picked up another Puch yesterday and they

had an 1976 moped I haven't heard of before, the

late says its made by Rovet SRL Italy, i cant find that

manufacturer anywhere on Google related to Mopeds.

Does anyone what i picked up here? Its pretty rough

but has all parts except the top for the carb (which

happens to be a more modern Mikuni so no biggie). Nothing

some sodablasting and powercoating cant take care off.

The engine is Minarelli, i know the name but thats

it for the older style engines. I know a little about

the 1999 2 Stroke 50cc they put in my Motorhispania

Furia Dirtbike i used to have back than.

Any ideas?

Greetings from Maryland :)

Well theres your problem, the cylinder is a cat.

Looks like a safari.

Re: Lets play 'name that moped' ...

true our kitten fotobombed the picture i didnt even see him kreep in there

i thought a first its a safari, however i cant find any with that tank style

and the side covers are different, also think the safari is linked to another

italian company

Re: Lets play 'name that moped' ...

1 cat power

Re: Lets play 'name that moped' ...

Very Bianchi Snark - like, except still tiny differences.

Re: Lets play 'name that moped' ...

Bianchi maybe Snark? Tank seems a little different though....

Re: Lets play 'name that moped' ...

DeeZy beat me to it! Baretta of some kind is pretty close too though....

Re: Lets play 'name that moped' ...

that cat did some work on my moped.

Re: Lets play 'name that moped' ...

hmm, my guess is some newer/older variant of a Malanca Roxi. Like this one that has a morini...

Re: Lets play 'name that moped' ...

stumped

rovetta in brescia, italy is 2 hours away from bologna

myrons mentions rovet engines for safari / fox.

hit F3 and search rovet for the 3 hits.

it autotranslates into "loot" from dutch, again, no cigar.

i'm fairly certain SRL is SIGNORELLI, a family name, no translating it from italian.

"Signorelli Motors has been a recognised name in the motor industry for over 45 years. Giuseppe Signorelli started up Signorelli Motors when he came over from Italy"

but again, no moped hits associated, currently in south africa.

http://cybermotorcycle.com/euro/italian.htm

take that back, here's a page for Signorelli , no dice there.

as to your "name that moped"

Re: Lets play 'name that moped' ...

the barretta is a bit different on the frame and tank, the Malanca has slightly different chain guard and head light + seat

the mechanic kitten may be rented for 50 treatland.tv credits an hour ;P

i work in shipping and SRL usually stands for company type, equivalent of LLC in english

its odd that the internet doesnt have anything on that moped, if its not on

google it doesnt exist...i want to know more and more what that thing is, i'll look for some more numbers and names on the different parts

Re: Lets play 'name that moped' ...

went over the bike, the only other identification marks are on the electrical components, all lights are made by Fratelli Pagani (CEV) which fit the time frame of the 1976 plate

Re: Lets play 'name that moped' ...

sorry for the spam...getting closer, safari is related like you guys mentioned, check this out:

So the manufacturer is also known as Rovet Motori i guess

@Jason, see attached, the head looks a bit small for the cylinder, i haven't taken it off yet, i need to finish my other project before i start tearing in this one ;)

@hoov, my first puch is almost ready, rear tire i bough is too wide for swingarm waiting for new 2 1/4 one, the other two puchs are running but

barely need all overhaul and carb cleaning, so i'm not ready unless you

let me show up in my chinese scooter ;)
