Puch Magnum II Higher Speed

Hi Mopeders,

I have a 1980 Puch Magnum II that runs great. However, it can only hit 23-25 depending on wind. I was wondering what I could do to get it up to 35 or so, to be able to keep up on the roads around my house. I've been searching and have found stuff about taking out the head gasket, and replacing the stock exhaust. Could someone help me with this? Thanks.

It should do 29-32 mph stock so you got either a 1.5hp or yours is not tuned correctly/ missing air box, not timed, clogged exhaust

Re: Puch Magnum II Higher Speed

Alright, that's what I've heard most people say. What and where should I get the parts? I don't want to spend too much money on this project, so is there anything I could do to it for really cheap?

Or worse, the dreaded 1.0 hp and the internal trans gears are different.

What does it say on the side sticka?

Re: Puch Magnum II Higher Speed

It was manufactured on 3/80 and the VIN # is: 1607449. If that means anything

Well for 59.00 you can get a treats 50cc kit and for around 60.00 you can get a boss pipe or a jammy for 54.00 .

That with a few jets (10.00)to upjet and a metal mesh filter (14.00) will get you low 40s mph

Re: Puch Magnum II Higher Speed

I'm totally new to this, so what sites or stores would you recommend for buying these? And how do you upjet a moped?

Treatland and 1977 mopeds,

When you let more air in a engine you got to get bigger jets to richen the mix

So if you got a 64# jet in your carb get #66-68 jets for the kit and pipe will make more air flow

Re: Puch Magnum II Higher Speed

So I'm looking at this:

1. 50cc Treat Kit $69.00

2. Jammy Pipe $54.00

3. And what do I need for jets and filters? If someone wanted to link me. I'm using treatland.

Re: Puch Magnum II Higher Speed

Should I get individual parts? Or this kit:

50cc Jammy Kit Party Supreme

Re: Puch Magnum II Higher Speed

Oooooor this kit? It's cheaper...:

50cc Budget Speed Kit

6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other .

You will still need to learn timing and jetting

So search wiki
