Proposed Honda Hobbit T-Shirt Designs

Hey All,

I love Honda Hobbits. Most of the moped apparel I see on the web is European makes/models... no hobbit designs... until now.

I've been a graphic artist full time for over 10 years, and today I decided to construct some cool Hobbit t-shirt designs. I know what your thinking... copyright infringement. Frankly, I don't care. If I were to have a shirt or two done, it would be done by a friend I know who runs a silk screen company.

The art I'm posting today is L0-RES, but I do have HI-RES versions for higher quality printing. I'd like to hear what you guys think about what I came up with so here goes....

I snagged it from the web somewhere... google image search "Hobbit"

Like I said, I'm not concerned about the legal ramifications... I'm not printing this for the masses... I guess if they have nothing better to do, maybe they'll come after me... I seriously doubt it. I snag shit from the web all the time to go into the ads I design. Part of the business...

Isn't that from the old animated version of the Hobbit? I think that exact pose is on the cover of my Hobbit "Book and Record"

Yep - from the cover I think...

Lots of images come up when you do a search for "Hobbit", that was the best by far...

Yeah, I got a LARGE version of that image, opened it in Photoshop and created a path around mr. hobbit... came out great huh?

that's pretty cool and all. but what part did you actually _design_? i mean - not do bag or anything - but you've taken two images - images that you admitted to lifting - and put them together in one file.

maybe you could do a cool type treatment of the word hobbit or something?

i wouldn't worry about legal stuff either.

OK - I did not "design" each particular piece, I retrieved the Honda logos (which were black and white) added color (RED), created clipping paths and combined them in photoshop.

I did not want the word Hobbit on it... that's what the art is for. Even if only 1 person in 10000 knew what the logo was for... that's cool for me. But yes, I could stylize the text for the word hobbit... I just didn't.

Tell ya what Roadtripper - I'll come up with more versions and post 'em soon... how's that?

So anyways, I think the ones I posted earlier came out really cool... even if I didn't draw the hobbit myself...

Don't worry about any sort of legal things on the Honda end. the pa-50 copy rights were up a few years ago. thats why you can get all the Honda clones now. That big "H" on the other hand is still vary much currant and in not relay related to Honda motor cycles. I like the one with the big wing.

I think you should do the Hobbit centered with Honda in a simular font as "the HOBBIT" is on the orignal artwork.
