North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

NEMA Victor (3 Knees Down) /

Hello everyone, just a reminder about the first race of the Cherry Valley Series that will happen June 16th. Finish your bikes and tune them well. We've got some awesome prizes and monies from our sponsors so race well and win big.

Register to the Website:

http://northeastmopedracing.com

Check out our facebook page at:

http://www.facebook.com/northeastmopedracing

After you register to the website, in your profile, register for the first race, this way I know who is planning on coming.

The final rules are posted on the website. We have three classes:

Junior Open - Average modified mopeds

Pro Open - Intensely modified mopeds

Variated Open - All variated mopeds

You can race in any class as long as your moped falls under the class rules. If you can race in the Junior Open, you may also race in the Pro Open (but not the other way around).

Your score will be updated on your profile after each race. The racers with the highest scores that race in the Championship race will get a some awesome prizes.

If you have a team or want to represent your gang, leaders may create teams in their profiles and invite people to join them. (If you don't know how to do it let me know and I'll show you how)

We are working on giving the best teams a cool prize or discount.

Location:

Lafayette, NY

Good luck racers!

Additional Info:

There are two heats for each class, first heat is the "qualifying" heat which is 10 laps. The second heat is the "points" race which is 15 laps. Your score depends on the second heat, not the first. We start the races with the Junior and end with the Variated.

Loosely Planned Schedule:

8am to 10am - Register and Race Prep

9am to 11:00am - Practice

11:00 to 12:00 - Lunch

12:00 to 1:30 - First Heats

1:30 to 3:00 - Second Heats

Arrive early because we don't have the entire day to race.

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

I want to race...

I hope I can get my racer tuned perfectly by then, I dont want to seize during the races! ):

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

My first race will be in July.

I just spent half-a - month in Maine.

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

NEMA Victor (3 Knees Down) /

Yep, get them tuned right. I know some people soft seized at the Moped Mayhem event but continued to take the top spots!

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

Up jet yo!

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

I most definitely must make it on the 16th, just to meet people. I missed out on the MopedMayhem event sadly. If I can get my colibri back together, I might be racing, although my bike will most likely suck. I'll be there more for fun anyway.

Enter the Junior Class then! There should be lots of people and good times.

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

Cool! My only question is this.... is it $65/per race or $65 for the whole lot?

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

anyone from Massachusetts want to go or is going.

although my derbi aint ready, i have some other quick i can compete with.

i would like to carpool, either in my van or in your van/truck.

my van need some more work, but i did drop another motor in it recently and that seems good to go.

Swap meet in the pits at the track again?

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

Who had all those top tanks?

Gotta look at those again.

Per race. That will hopefully be subject to change during the season.

And top tanks were from Mohawk Mammoths

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

Ok, I lied, that wasnt my only question... Im just wondering about the rules for the classes and what class my bike would actually be in (junior or pro). The rules say carb and exhaust "changes" allowed..... does that mean changes to stock equipment or what? I can give you my setup so you could tell me what class I would be in. I'm registered for junior at the moment.

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

the top tanks were not from us, i think maybe britchez from buffalo but i cant remember

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

NoISy BOyS KEV /

I thought the Ithaca corner had those tanks.... lol

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

as i remember the krenkester bought one so maybe he can shed light on this ancient riddle

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

I belive it was the Ithaca groms yes bring more....

Any one want a set of kx100 forks cheap 40.00 gotta lower them 6"

They fit magnum and Freespirit frames with little difficulty

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

Changes = swaps. You are allowed to modify stock or use aftermarket parts. The difference between the Pro and Junior class is cc difference, and Pro has unlimited moped frames. In Junior, you may only use the frame that came stock with the motor (but you may reinforce it for the track).

As long as it is a moped frame, you may swap out engines for pro, or slap on a variated motor and get in the variated class.

Hop that answers your question.

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

scott you have room for me and a bike?

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

ya likely if you can make it to albany somehow - we may be camping the night before as well, cause getting up early fucking sucks

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

Jared Kaczynski /

Would love to race. Maybe next year I'll try building up a moped... hopefully by then I'll have some understanding of these things haha.

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

yep, that answered it. I still have stock 50cc cylinder, but ported, so I'll still be in the junior class. Thanks for clearing that up victor!

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

I believe the track may let you camp there I asked joe after moped mayhem

And he was kinda warm to the idea.

Victor maybe give him a shout to see if y'all can crash there.

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

NEMA Victor (3 Knees Down) /

Oh for sure, good idea. I gotta see if Mohawk Mammoths are up for that though.

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

The camping idea would be sweet. Im not too keen on getting up to drive from rochester the morning of haha.

Re: North East Moped Racing Association: June Race

I'm super stoked for next weekend. Have some tires and even a new helmet in the mail to get here middle of the week. My biggest problem now is figuring out how to get gas to my carb with the intake I had to make. Would I be allowed to mount my tank (or just some sort of tank) on a crossbar for the junior class or would that be too much of a stretch? My bike isnt gonna be pretty for the first race, that's for sure.

Whats the scoop on camping at the track. I prefer that over leaving at 6:00 am.
