Chain tension

What is the correct amount of tension on the drive chain for a Puch Maxi 1 speed? I am sure there is a more scientific appraoch than the "o'bout" method.

Re: Chain tension

Okay, direct from the 2-speed manual.One-speed should be the same. With laden weight(approx.165lbs.) there should be 3/4" deflection from straight at the bottom when you lightly pull down. This is in order for the chain not to overtighten if you hit a bump and compress the swing arm to a straighter position in relation to the engine.

Re: Chain tension

I am always checking the chain tension and lubrication. It is one of the simpler things you can do for optimum performance and noise reduction.
