hey so i was looking for this, but didnt find much. what exactly do transfer ports do in your cylinder? are these exclusive to 2stroke engines?
why hasnt anybody written a wiki page on it?

Yes they are exclusive to 2 cycle engines. They allow the air/fuel mixture to travel from the crankcase into the combustion chamber.

I would ridicule you, but I think the wiki search just sucks sometimes -- it's not like wikipedia where people have anticipated every possible alternative to what you type in, and redirected those searches to the correct article. That's why the category structure is particularly useful for our wiki -- the transfer port article is under the "Moped Jargon" category.
