Re: in need of some help

Did you remove the fuel petcock and clean the fuel strainer?

You might want to join this Yahoo Group. All about Honda C70s.

I have a C70 that I got about the same time you got yours. Runs great!

Re: in need of some help

I forgot to post the link to the yahoo group that might be haelpful to you. Thye have a C70 Shop manual online under the FILES section. You have to join the group but it's free.

After you join, got to FILES, ShopManual C70 80-82,

Start with Jpeg #42 which is an exploded view of the carb.

its the slide thats stuck

Re: in need of some help

OK the throttle slide. When the carbs have been sitting for a long time they accumulate a lot of old varnish that is almost like glue. You can try running very hot water down into the carb and also squirting some strong detergent in it.

After that try some wd 40 or penetarting oil. See if you can go in from either side with a long thin flat blade screw driver and gently try to pry the throttle slide up. Keep repeating the hot water flush and the oil. It will eventually work loose.
