Re: New Electric bike

Yeah,it figures! Well,we'll keep our eyes out for a used one,Zippy!LOL !!

Re: New Electric bike

You figure a place like San Francisco where there is no parking and the distances traveled are relatively short these might make more sense than a car. I know people in SF that get $2500 a year in parking tickets.

When the volume of unit sales goes up and competition comes in prices will go down.

We call it the technology escalator. New technology enters at the top of a down escalator and as time goes by the cost of the technology declines after the early adopters get it going and then it becomes ubiquitous at a commodity price.

So I would say in about 2 years these be around $899 (made in India or China). The zinger is they will probably charge a stiff fee when you junk one these things because of the batteries. We could always dump the batteries in some developing nation.

Re: New Electric bike

Aw,Zippy,I got a BACKHOE that digs 19' deep,so there's NO PROBLEM! Hey,I'll tell ya' that's neat really if the batteries will last a while and how much would replacement battery packs cost ,do you think? So people in San Fran pay Barbara the Boxer that much?I got wallpaper I pulled off the SKEEKS website that shows her with a pitchfork and horns!Ha!Whew!I get mad when I go to Columbus,OH and get a 10.00 parking ticket!Well,`til they get that price down to my poverty level,I'll be smoking 2-stroke I guess. Thanks!

Captain Gorgeous /

you know i was planning on saving $1100 to buy a really cool 60s volvo 122, but i think ill wait a little longer and get one of these, unless i can find a cool moped down here in san diego. one problem, there are no moped shops in san diego and other than my two friends that ride mopeds, ive only seen one other person riding one. true there is a vespa shop, but a scooter is not a moped. true that the vespa shop sometimes has mopeds in it, but they are only repairing them for other people, not in the business of selling them. and i dont want to deal with a new moped, i like 1980 and earlier...

Re: New Electric bike

Captain G! Get yourself a Vespa Grande. There's Zippy and others that can help you out with it.Right now there's a Vespa Grande for sale on Moped2.org(classifieds-mopeds for sale) that's in Columbus,Oh.Probably get it for less than the asking price of 500.00......just a thought!

Re: New Electric bike

but im sure you (cap'n g) can find something... don's right, talk to zippy.. he should be able to tell you where to look...
