Small bikes?

Christopher Wells /

So I'm looking to build something up for my girlfriend and I am having trouble finding something small enough for her to ride comfortably.

I've considered modifying a Magnum X with dart wheels, longer shocks, fork, and swing-arm but I think the frame might be too short.

I've also thought about a Pacer Super Sport but really don't want to shell out all the cash for the Morini parts.

Then again I am also thinking about finding another Jawa Supreme and setting it up like the Magnum/Hobbit Hybrid.

But to be honest I just want some input on small bikes, what would you recommend?

motobecane 7 = 88 lbs (16in wheels)

Re: Small bikes?

i know with mountain/road bikes that seat placement is important for a comfortable ride, might wanna change that or get a long seat. if its something like frame size/weight idk...

Re: Small bikes?

I'd get a common bike, and just modify it. Tomos for example. Drop the seat, change the bars, etc.

Re: Small bikes?

Pinto, drop the seat lower and pretty light weight as far as peds go.

Re: Small bikes?

yes, pintos are very small.

Re: Small bikes?

You could always try to find a Minarelli frame. I have to Baretta 38s and they are tiny frames. They also have 16inch wheels.

Re: Small bikes?

I'd consider the Vespa Ciao to be the smallest common moped. so itsy bitsy !

Re: Small bikes?

I WOULD RECOMMEND MY 50cc HONDA HUMMING G monkey type moped but it is over here in GREAT BRITAIN, DO YOU HAVE ANY OF THESE SUPER LITTLE JAPANESE BIKES IN THE U.S ? Cheers Jeff..

I have a 7 and 2 leis and I would say the lei is the small one. honda express would be a cheep one to get her on a bike

Re: Small bikes?

yeah get a honda express suzuki fa50 or yamaha qt50 all are small cheap and easy to get and about as reliable as possible

Re: Small bikes?

My girls 4'9", her custom magnum-x or as I like to call it magnum-xl will be done this weeekend (other then upholstery), just waiting for paint to dry; extended swingarm, longer forks and 16" 5 stars gives about a 23"seat height and good geometry.
