What about search in the photo section? There is no specific photo search, there is a site-wide search at the bottom of every page. Can you clarify the bug?

Is anyone else experiencing this double/triple post problem? Paul, is it just happening when you post images? Can you explain more, this seems awfully weird.
@capino: can you explain more about how the "follow topic" feature isn't working? Is it just not showing up in your followed topics list? Thanks.
page won`t load sometimes. i have to browse around a couple other sites before ma will load. using firefox
I think the multiple pic post is when I double click to post, it seems to be that every time the post message tab is pressed it counts as a new post.
Is there a way to limit it so one reply can only make one post?
I've had the same loading issue as Mad Mike. I've only used Firefox.
Sometimes (several times a day) when changing forums or clicking the next post in threaded view, the loading spinner just goes round and round. After waiting 15 -30 seconds I'll go zooming around the web, come back to MA in a minute or two. Usually I can get back on MA, sometimes got to wait a bit more. I haven't had the patience to just let it sit and maybe refresh/get access on it's own.
It did this for me before the new site as well. At times access would just sort of "hang". Don't know if I should call it a bug or just occasional periods of MA being "inert"?
Overall the site is functions well and speedily, too. Hooray! Thanks.
My first name moniker is supposed to be lower case but it doesn't allow that to happen. I have been forced to resort to placing an underscore as the first letter. Will this eventually be remedied?
i don't like the forced capitalization either. i wanted to be tdc or TDC, but it auto formats to Tdc.
i also tried terrydean, or even TerryDean, but it auto formats to Terrydean no matter what (same with the wiki). it's not important at all, but it looks weird and bothers me.
just a thought simon, as to the sticky posts. i agree they should be at the top, but they should maybe also be labeled sticky, and a divider between them and the regular posts, so it is like the sticky section, but when there are more stickys, it is differentiated. know what i mean? good job by the way.
hey Simon, not typing to complain, site seems much better now, I only ranted before because the old one was so seamless, and I was so used to it. Appreciate all your hard work, it did crash last night but seems great now. Thank you for your efforts. Best of luck!
My sincere apologies if this has been mentioned a million times.. i didn't feel like read through every post.
Just wanted to let you know that the search on the forums isn't working!
I love that feature, it helps soo much.
Love the new site! Thanks for all of your work
It was mentioned in the "SECOND" post, by me.

ETags, Use them.
Dear Simon:
Just a little performance update here. In case you've made changes or it's just traffic overload.
Site ran fast and easy earlier today. Great!
Been on for the last hour and when going post to post and thread to thread have had four waits of about a minute to load the next one. And two waits approximately three to four minutes. On one of those I went off site and back. Then MA was @ ten seconds to load up.
Firefox, Win XP Pro
I noticed that the google site search works when used from any page on the website, unless you are viewing actual search results and type in a new search.
ie: If I tried to search for mopde, and then tried to edit it at the search results page to "moped" it would still show no results.
What happened to flat view? The RSS thing doesn't show all posts like flat view used to. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Thanks.
1 The 12 Hr log in is not working, it logs out in less than 2 hr's
2 My Profile has glitches in the typing.
3 The links in my profile don't work.
4 The box used to update profiles is vary small & has no preview?
5 I'm slow at typewriting and the system ether dumps my long post or logs me out?
6 can you bump the editing up to 20min?
Sillas, I believe Simon disabled the site search initially because of the speed problems, and it should be back up soon. Or, per his reply in this post: "Forum search will return eventually. For now the site search in the footer will work for older posts."
Wayne, did you already clear cache/cookies and log out, then log back in? As to the glitches in the typing, I think some of that is your HTML usage and some of that is the character encoding that Mars was talking about. I'll play around with the stuff in your user box and see if I can make it better. If I can, I'll e-mail you a copy to put in there. If I try to edit my profile, I have a lot of the weird characters in the edit box as well, like so. (In Chrome, you can make edit boxes bigger like that. I dunno if other browsers can do that, though.) Anyway, I'll try to mess around with it and see if I come up with anything.
Okay, Wayne, I e-mailed you a text file. Copy and paste that and see if it works.
The weird formatting thing that mine was doing was because it didn't like the ampersand in the image link. I re-copied and pasted two of the links and used plain image tags on the third, and all seem to be working fine without any more outbursts of random characters.
Got It but im editing it before posting it thanks Linda. :)
I see what you did.
Yes, I need to fix the automatic capitalization, but it's in a few spots so it's a bit low on my priority list right now. Will happen.
@silverside61: There will rarely be sticky posts, I intend to use them sparingly. Also, they are differentiated when there are not new messages, with a star in the left column. Suggestion noted though, perhaps it needs more.
Yes, forum search was disabled by me. It's a very intensive activity for the database to perform and until the performance issues are completely resolved I wanted to turn it off. I will probably re-enable it within the week.
@evildead: Thanks, I'll take a look at the form on the Google search page. On my to-do list.
@kissingeramos: Flat view is exactly where it has always been. There is a link at the top of every page to switch between Flat and Threaded view. You will only see this link when logged in.
@Linda: Can you please email me an example of the URL that it was choking on. It should be okay with ampersands in an image tag URL, I will take a look and try to correct.
There are numerous character encoding issues as this site made the switch to UTF-8, which is more inclusive and standard, but there are some conversion bugs to fix.
i dont think all my posts are actually posting.

that's a feature
does it count as a bug that the moderators take a really long time to get around to moderating the general forum?
performance forum guys are on top of it, gen forum not so much.
Someone moved the gen-forum "Osama is dead" thread to off-topic AWFULLY fast last night...
