Re: those saddlebags everyone was talking about..

WOW! They look like they belong there.

To insure the longest life possible, treat the leather with mink oil. It's available in supermarkets that have shoe care products. It will waterproof and prevent cracking of leather.

I need to go to casey's and pick mine up!

Re: those saddlebags everyone was talking about..

very cool. I just ordered 2 sets also!

Could you take a few more pics of the bags opened up? I can't tell from the above pics how they open.

Thanks!

Where did you get them!!!!! ????

Re: those saddlebags everyone was talking about..

To open them, you have to unhook the straps from the top bar. That folds down and then the actual bag inside folds out. Not really easily accessable, but it would keep people from just opening them up and steeling your stuff. Once you know how to open them, it is really easy. Just not for those who don't!

Re: those saddlebags everyone was talking about..

heck yeah! i love that they look old-school and really smooth (i love the leather button clasp). where did you get them? i want some for my bianchi!

Re: those saddlebags everyone was talking about..

hey everyone.. ill try to go downstairs and get another pic of how they open.. crisis is right.. not too user-friendly.. but functional, and theft deterrent... unless someone just takes the whole damn thing off.. anyways, i ordered them from www.sportsmanguide.com... someone posted a while ago about them... they are called "swiss bread bags" or something like that... pretty sweet deal... i cant wait until im not sick anymore so i can go ride!

im gonna fill them with candy. =]

Cool Deal.. I order shite from them all the time.... I got a Swiss Military wool trench coat for 14 bucks and it was brand new. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/

The have Pumas and Airwalks in there sometimes to for really cheap. They are great... tents, packs, all kinds of stuff!

Re: those saddlebags everyone was talking about..

Hee-hee

I knew you guys would like them :) I'm envious though, yours look like a leather

cover.... mine are more like a canvas material..... they're perfect for mopedding, huh ?

Re: those saddlebags everyone was talking about..

Ok, I just took a picture of my breadbag-saddlebags..... I have the bike in the kitchen right now tearing the carb off.... ha, too cold outside to be doing that stuff.

I'm going to try and send two pics...one is with the saddle bags closed,in normal driving position...pic # 2 will be with the saddlebag opened up

Re: those saddlebags everyone was talking about..

Ok, guess you can't send two files at same time...... here are the saddlebags closed up.... notice that even though I ordered the same item that my covers are more of a canvas material..... Mine even had a metal army camping spoon/fork set and cloth bread cover still inside !

Re: Gotta get 'em

OK. You guys got me convinced. I'm getting a set. Being that they are for carrying bread, they must be very weather proof.

I'm sure Gary over at Sportsman's Guide is wondering why there's a run on these.

Jim

Re: Gotta get 'em

Yeah... we'll just let Gary at Sportsman's Guide know that even though the Swiss Army might be hibernating and are throwing away their stuff, that the MOPED army is gearing up to take over the world...and we'll need plenty of bread-bags to accomplish this

Re: Gotta get 'em

hahaah, thats right, jimmy!

hope there's still some left after this rush of ordering! haha...

Re: those saddlebags everyone was talking about..

I went to the sportsmans webpage but could not locate leather saddlebags only nylon...What was the area and #'s for the ones you have on your Honda? thanks

Re: those saddlebags everyone was talking about..

honestly, i just ordered the nylon ones... and this is what i got.... maybe they are out of the nylon ones?? i dont know... the "stock number" on my invoice is WXO-49246-000-000.... hope this helps!
