Hey...I just got my tank today for my tomos(Thanks Cfist...you gave me an awesome deal)...when I hooked it up to the carb and the tank no fuel flows but when I take it the line off the carb it flows good...I don't think the fuel is flowing into the carb. What could cause this and how do I fix it, also is there a tomos carb diagram somewhere? Thanks A lot.
How do you know the gas isn't flowing into the carb? It flows out of the tube when you disconnect it from the carb, right?
Yes, but when I turned the valve on with it connected to the carb and the tank the fuel line wouldnt fill....it would fill like half way and when I was trying to start it, I turned the fuel valve off and the gas level didnt go down in the hose. It stayed the same. Thanks

Hey Nick, with fuel on, tap on side of the carb, needle may be stuck closed. Doug D
umm no. the air bubble is because there is no where for the air in the tube to go, when you run the bike for a while it will go away.

I have been ignoring this question because I am not sure what a Tomos carb looks like, but no one else seems to be helping a lot so here goes.
In the carburetor, there is a float and float valve, sometimes there is a screen between the gas inlet and the float valve. Most carbs have a main jet or jet cover or bowl drain on the bottom of the carburetor. If you loosen this, gas should run out with the petcock on and stop when you turn it off. If no gas comes out, remove the fitting where gas goes into the carb and look for a screen. At this point you should pull the carb and clean it out completely. It is simple enough, just sketch whatever you are not sure about as you take it apart.

if it runs fine than it is not a float valve problem, if gas flows out of the gas line when you disconnectit than it is fine.
also you would not notice the gas going down, because your engine uses way too little gas to notince it.
I can't get the bike to run...I will try these suggestions later today(Gotta go to school, Last day before vacation yay! :). I tried to start it for like 20 minutes yesterday...Theres a spark so it has to not be getting gas.
Try starting it with the gas cap off of the tank, just in case air cant get into the tank to alleviate the vacum caused by gas flowing out.

Put about 2 feet of clear fuel line on the carb, do not connect it to the tank, but instead, leave it open (this could get sloppy if your not careful).
Carefully fill it with gas, and try to start the bike. you should see it go down.
These wont solve your problem, but should give you a better idea of where to look.
