Hold on, Dave!

Wait,Dave! You can't just yell Yay! and not tell us HOW you fixed it.That leaves everybody that tried to help you in the dark! What was wrong with it?By the way;GLAD YOU FIXED IT !On your problem with the popping when you re-accelerate;DO a plug chop.Probably it just needs to run a while and clean itself out.But the plug chop will make sure you don't ruin your engine. You did put in a NEW spark plug, right?

Re: Hold on, Dave!

oh sorry about that, well yesterday after i found a nearly broken wire sparking i thought i had fixed it while that helped it to idle it still ran like crap, so then my sister suggests that i should pull the spark plug and when i did the the gap had been bridged after i cleared out the deposits in the gap it runs like a champ. yes i did buy a new plug for it , what is this plug chop procedure you speak of. Oh and by the way while i was cruising it all over the place yesterday i seem to have run a lot of the problems out of it. thanks again guys

Re: Hold on, Dave!

plug chop is when you run the moped full throttle, then hit the kill switch. pull the plug out and look at the color to see if you're running lean or rich.

Re: Hold on, Dave!

ok well what color signifies what?

Go here and scroll down and read a fairly complete description of the whole process of.. reading plugs and plug chops.

Re: Hold on, Dave!

brown is good. too light ... your engine is about to seize (running lean). if wet or gunky, then you're running w/ too much oil (rich).
