dropped engine

VespaCIAO /

I just got a new engine for my 1974 Vespa Piaggio CIAO and i had the engine out on the bench trying to pull the fly wheel. My friend knocked it onto the concrete and bent a cooling blade and no tellin what else. I am concerned because before the clutch would catch and turn the engine but now the outer pads catch but dont appear stong enough to turn the crankshaft. What could be the prob? What do i need to do to fix it? Anyone with wiring diagrams would also be greatly appreciated....thanks

Re: dropped engine

Bummer dude sounds like you bent the cylinder along with the fins, can you turn the engine over by hand without the plug in it? If not , well maybe it can be honed out or back to round, if your lucky ....Rog

Yes I can turn it by hand.....Not sure, maybe he demagnitized the flywheel some. When he dropped it the electrons might have unalligned to demagnitize it...I don't know...
