Europe Trip

MopedFanDima /

My two friends and I want to moped around in Europe, starting in Amsterdam and finishing up in italy, probably Milan or Genoa. Any suggestions? We would go from aMsterdam to Brussels, to Paris, to Normandy beach, diagonally down to Lyons, to Avignon and Cannaes and Genoa/Milan. Anyone been to France with any suggestions? Is that distance too far for mopeds? How much would it be to rent mopeds in Europe? Are there any European travek agencies where we could rent mopeds and retun them in a different city? WHOO!! Thanks.

Re: Europe Trip

Re: Europe Trip

I just retuned from Holand,

You can pretty mych cross country on the ped, they even have dedicated moped/bike paths along their freeways.

Also better to buy a ped there they run about the same (800 or so for a base model fox or tomos model).

About the other countries I have no idea but Holland is definatly Ped friendly.

Re: Europe Trip

you can totally get a moped in europe. oh, and some guys in the us just crossed the us coast to coast on mopeds. so i'm sure going up/down europe shouldn't be a problem at all.

Re: Europe Trip

oh ... and get the new vespa ciao when you do your trip. especially if you're in italy.

Re: Europe Trip

What Miguel says is true. I am living in Belgium currently and there are plenty of moped dealers around. By the way, a new Piaggio Ciao sells for $670 here, including tax, which is pretty good if you ask me, though that moped lacks a rear shock I think. Anyone know if those are considered to be good peds in general?
