>>So the question is, is there a head gasket I can buy, or have I put the cylinder head on the wrong direction? I was once told by a technician that there is only one way to put it on. Maybe I put it on wrong but I saw bubbles and it was wet at the seal area. I'm afraid of tightening too much on it because it might strip. Can anyone answer my question?<<
I shall try.
That's a metal-to-metal seal and should not require a gasket..as well that sound you are probably hearing is not leakage, more likely the sound of proper compression.
As for "only one way it goes" well, I am none too sure that is true, the bolt holes seem equidistant to me.
Now signs of leakage at the seal, that is not so good, but it's awful hard to screw up on the cylinder mounting, and I would use the reccommendations in Freds guide to make SURE that's actually leakage.
As for avoiding strippage, good call - that's a bitch to fix, but here's what tends to work well on the cylinder bolts.
Tighten in crossover fashion, like lugnuts, bottom right, top left, bottom left, top right..etc, and just spin them snug at first.
Once they're all set in place give em a quarter to half turn to lock em down, should require a firm push on the ratchet end, but anything more than that is too much, you don't need to "Gorilla" the bolts on, just seat em well and a half-turn oughta do it.
