<HTML>Please Help,
I have a Kreidler Moped (approx 1978) which won't start. I want to replace some of the damaged parts and if possible obtain a service manual. All of the information I have found is in German. Can anyone help?
Thanks

<HTML>Maybe Haynes has a Kreidler manuall, they've got manualls for almost every moped in the world
And Haynes manualls are very good.
Kreidlers are very good y'know, german mopeds didn't have a speedlimit in those days, that's why Kreidler and Zundapp are very good mopeds.
If it won't start, check the compression, exhaust and carburettor, and the plug.

<HTML>start at this site for fixing any moped out there really
http://people.cs.und.edu/~nordlie/moped/repair.html
that should get you going. most of the times it's the fuel system as the source of problem (all gummed up)
also it doesn't mention it i don't think but make sure all your seals are still intact. i had a worn through seal in my crank case which when replaced started my tomos right up.

Moped riders association has a bunch of manuals in their general repair section. Can't link it at the moment because their site is down. Not sure if uploading pdf format attachments to posts here works. But I'll give it a try.
appearantly not
i'll get back to you later if you give me more info. Tired now.
Upload a pic for me too.
Kreidlers are so sweet!
I just repaired one that I sold to a freind 2 years ago. They have a very thin head gasket...could be your problem. 4 6mm nuts on te head (10mm socket wrench) and 30 seconds to find out if there is a break in it.
I had one that was 75% complete, I ended up selling it because it was missing so much but just from the tinkering I did on it, it was probably the most solid and quality build moped ever. So much care in all of the details like the little clips to guide all the cables and little stuff like that. Definately worth fixing up.
So this is good info, but just to make sure everyone knows, this thread is from 2000.
lol
how did this thread get bumped after almost a decade? hahaha
